fter graduating from Arellano High School in 1964, Luis S. Villacorta, "Louie" to friends, finished the 5-year B.S. Pharmacy course at the Manila Central University in 1969 with magna cum laude honors. Immediately after, he took the Pharmacy board examinations and placed fourth in the examinations. In the same year, United Laboratories offered him a job in the product development group as a dosage form formulator. He moved on to Abbott Laboratories in the Philippines and became the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager. Later, Louie became the Quality Head at Pfizer in the Philippines. While at Pfizer, he completed all his course units in the pursuit of an M.S. Pharmacy at the University of Santo Tomas.Louie was born and raised in the Sta. Cruz district of Manila. His boyhood years were spent in the area bounded by Blumentritt, Rizal Avenue, Tayuman and Jose Abad Santos streets. He studied at the Bonifacio Elementary School located at the corner of Ipil and Tayuman streets. In 1988, he migrated to the US with his family. He is currently employed at a giant US biopharmaceutical company in their quality division. As part of his job function, he spends nearly 50% of his time traveling to US and international locations, visiting and verifying the good manufacturing practices of their company’s factories, major suppliers, and contractors.

Louie is a licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania and was previously a part-time pharmacist at Rite Aid Pharmacy, a US chain drugstore. He is married to Eva, a chemical engineer graduate from Mapua Institute of Technology, and has two children, Reginald and Theodore. Reggie finished his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University and immediately worked for Centecor, a Johnson & Johnson biotech company. He subsequently finished his M.S. in Biotechnology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently taking his Ph.D. course work at the University of Southern California with concentration in pharmaceutical economics and policy. Ted finished college at the Pennsylvania State University in four years with three majors: a B.S. in Economics with honors, a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Statistics. Two years later, he finished his M.A. in Applied Mathematics at the Villanova University near Philadelphia. After taking several jobs, Ted is now employed at the world’s largest online retailer in Seattle, Washington.
